  • Primary Sources, our new podcast, continues with another portion of an interview with John Brummett.  Roby Brock talked to John, a long time journalist and political columnist, about J.D. Vance's book, Hillbilly Elegy.
  • A living history presentation by Shirley Schuette, an archival assistant at the Butler Center, who portrays German immigrant Louisa Becker, based on information contained in the Ruth Yingling Rector papers in the Butler Center's manuscript collection
  • More of the conversation between Bizarre Arkansas's Stewart Fuell and Mark Spitzer, a UCA Associate Professor of Creative Writing, poet, and editor of the Toad Suck Review
  • A portion of a talk Philip Kaplan gave at LifeQuest about Governor Sidney McMath. Today you'll hear his introduction, describing the events leading up to McMath's accomplishments as governor of Arkansas
  • This week Rex Nelson and Paul Austin chew the fat about Hope, Pop Cola, Mr. Cola, Nesbit, Sundrop, Pepsi a Yankee drink, scary gyms, Shirley, Emmett, Emerson, Clover Bend, unusual home-field advantages, Ashdown, Camden, paper mills, fighting mosquitos, concrete gym floors, aborted plans to dam the Eleven Point and Strawberry rivers, and highlights of the summer, including the fact that the Butler Center needs to field a team in next year’s motorized tillar race at Emerson.

  • A reading by Rien Fertel, author of The One True Barbecue, a book featured in the Arkansas Literary Festival 2016; program introduced by session moderator Rex Nelson and held at Whole Hog Barbecue in Little Rock as part of the Festival
