Central Arkansas Genealogical and Historical Society

Central Arkansas Genealogical & Historical Society:
An Announcement and an Invitation

First Public Meeting,
October 14, Arkansas Studies Institute, 6 P.M.

Interested in finding your roots and researching your family history? If so, you’re in luck. A new genealogical society, the Central Arkansas Genealogical & Historical Society, has just been started. Its goal is to help genealogical researchers from the beginning level upward to learn new ways to research their family history and to meet others interested in genealogy.

CAGHS will hold its first public meeting on October 14 at the Arkansas Studies Institute. The program begins at 6 P.M in the 2nd floor Research Room. Free on-site parking is available behind the Arkansas Studies Institute on President Clinton Ave. across from the Rivermarket. Those attending the October 14 event need to use the front entrance to the Institute on President Clinton Ave.

The October 14 program will be the first in a series of monthly programs to assist members in learning new tools available for family history research. CAGHS will also provide "hands on help" for those learning new research techniques.

On October 14, we’ll provide a tour of the outstanding Butler Center and the UALR collections of Arkansas research materials—a goldmine for genealogists. There will also be a short presentation about the goals of the society. You are cordially invited to attend and take advantage of the Butler Center's and UALR’s excellent collections. Come get to know all about CAGHS and what it has to offer family historians around the state!
