U.S. Marshal, Western District of Arkansas

In March 1876, James F. Fagan, the U.S. Marshal for the Western District of Arkansas, seized a large amount of property - handkerchiefs, buttons, castor oil, oysters, peaches, candy, coffee, horses, etc.  A notice was published in the Fort Smith Weekly New Era newspaper listing the confiscated property and related legal information.
