Event Reminder: Legacies and Lunch, July 1

Arkansas history students delve into local topics to compete in National History Day
Wednesday, July 1, 2009, noon – 1p.m.
Darragh Center - Main Library

History Day is an academic competition for students in grades six through twelve that promotes historical research as a vehicle for developing writing, speaking, and critical thinking skills. They may choose to create documentaries, live performances, visual exhibits, interpretive websites, or historical research papers. More than 6,000 Arkansas students are involved in History Day projects each year.

Join us at Legacies & Lunch as this year’s winners, who did projects on Arkansas topics, Caroline Poole and Taylor Jackson, along with State Coordinator Pat Ramsey, share their winning projects and discuss how History Day is enhancing history education in our communities.

Bring a sack lunch; drinks and dessert provided.
This event is free and open to the public. For more information, call 501-320-5717 or visit www.butlercenter.org.
