Using Microfilm at the Butler Center

Is easy!

We have eight microfilm readers available; two with print capabilities ($0.25 per copy).

Our microfilm is organized into cabinets on the north wall of the Butler Center. We ask that you only take two rolls out of the cabinets at a time, but this is our only restriction.

What kind of information can you get from our microfilm? Good question.

Here are some selections available:

  • Arkansas Census Records: 1830; 1840; 1850; 1860; 1870; 1880; 1900; 1910; 1920;1930. Other State Census Records: includes Alabama, Georgia, Illinois, Kentucky, Kansas, Louisiana, Oklahoma, Tennessee, and Texas.
  • Arkansas Marriage Records: arranged by county, dates included dependent on county.
  • Sanborn Fire Insurance Maps: 1885-1948; 1844-1970.
  • City Directories: various Arkansas cities and Little Rock Telephone Directories: 1903-1940.
  • Arkansas Original Land Grants and Arkansas Donation Deeds.
  • Freedman’s Bureau Records 1865-1869.
  • Civil War and other military records.
  • Revolutionary War Pension and Bounty Land Warrant Application Files.
Come by and check it out!
