Steve Barnes, an award winning Arkansas journalist, has been on the air since 1968. Ever since, he has been a leader in discussing current events in the Natural State and contributing to some of the country’s most prestigious news sources. Join us for Legacies and Lunch at the Main Library in the Darragh Center, September 3 from noon to 1 p.m.

Barnes, long-time host of AETN’s “Arkansas Week” program, has developed an extensive knowledge of Arkansas, including its major players, past and present. He has become one of the most recognizable and respected journalists in Arkansas; but has also touched a broader base with his works through many national publications including the New York Times and networks such as ABC, CBS, NBC, CNN and PBS.

Barnes has been a recipient of the University of Arkansas’s Journalist of the Year award, as well as receiving first prize for television documentary awarded by the Arkansas chapter of the Society of Professional Journalists.
