Things of Interest. . .

First, check out this New York Times article about a sound recording predating Edison's recordings with the phonograph. And hear a clip of the audio from 1860.

Then, read about the Maryland plantation attic that held documents dating from the 1660s to World War II in this Washington Post article. Then visit the Poplar Glove Project blog to learn about the processing of the documents (with photographs!).

Next, check out this blog entry at Everything is Miscellaneous about the Boston Public Library's gigantic digitization project.

And finally, visit the Butler Center's website to listen to podcasts from the 2008 Arkansas Literary Festival.
